Irish Arts & Cultural Organisations on Twitter

Last November I attend the Arts Council’s New Media, New Audience? Conference held at Dublin Castle. Chaired by John Kelly, the day long event was held to ‘explore the ways in which artists and the public are adapting and adopting new ways of producing, presenting and promoting the arts.’

We heard from many different speakers through-out the day, Charles Leadbetter and Andrew Keen began the day with a sparring match discussing the idea that the internet is destroying our cultures, versus the idea that we have not yet discovered the potential of Web 2.0.

Up to this point, I had always felt I was little more web savvy than my friends and family…oh how wrong I was. We spent the rest of the day hopping from seminars, and smaller sessions, hearing from the likes of online communciation guru Damien Mulley,  Cathy Fitzgerald of Artlinks, Nicky Gogan ofDarklight Film Festival and Andrew Taylor, Director of the Bolz Center for Arts Administration, USA.

Since then, I often wondered what the uptake would be by arts organisations and new medias. I’ve done a little twitter researching and discovered quite a few irish arts and cultural organisations online. Let me know if you find any more!
